I just received a card from Pigs Peace Sanctuary thanking ,e for the donation I made on behalf of ROAR (my non-profit animal rights organization). Note, I was able to do so thanks to those who purchased my second book, “Love Cats” as portions of proceeds go to ROAR, then ROAR gives to various animal organizations!

Love Cats is available online via Amazon in Kindle and Paperback versions:

However, for proceeds to go to ROAR and donated to various animal groups, purchases must be made directly through the author. Contact Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta at:

Welcome to R.O.A.R.

Cecil 2Rest in Peace, Beautiful Cecil ❤

R.O.A.R. (Respect Our Animals’ Rights) is a non-profit organization founded August 1, 2015 by Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta. We are a group of animal lovers who got together and bonded over the murder of Cecil the Lion.

We are unique in that we are not waving the vegan flag. We believe you can be a meat eater and love animals. Everyone is welcome to be a part of us as long as there is no criticism of lifestyles and cultures. We also respect non-trophy hunters.

For our first fundraiser, we have raised $550 and just sent the money to the following organizations:

1. Wild Cru (via Americans for Oxford, Inc.) – $250 (
2. Farm Sanctuary$50 (
3. Panthera$250, to sponsor a lion! I thought that would be awesome to have in honor of Cecil! In addition to many things, the donation supports the salary of a well trained community scout in Africa to help track and protect lions from being hunted! (More info can be found on the Panthera website). (

Those who have donated include: Mickey Wnek, Lynelle Behler, Patricia Blythe, Sarah Geer, Judith Smith, Joan Bunda, Dave Aver, Susan George, Iben Skjernaa Lyhne, Margaret Villa, Jerry Bedfor, Ellen and Greg Policastro, Beverly Russell, Corinne Wood, and Anonymous.
